Qld: Death of girl a tragedy: Police
Police have described the death of a 10-year-old girl whose body was found in a damon her family's Queensland property as a tragedy.
Police divers found the body of NATASHA MARSH about 10am (AEST) today in a shallowdam on her family's Stanthorpe property in south-east Queensland.
The alarm was first raised about 11am (AEST) yesterday when the girl failed to returnfrom a walk to her home at Dalcouth, about 10km outside of Stanthorpe.
A day-long search by more than 60 State Emergency Services volunteers, police, friendsand family ended when police divers found her body in the dam's murky waters.
The girl's bicycle and shoes were found by her father and grandfather yesterday near the dam.
Stanthorpe Inspector PAUL LOSTROH has told ABC TV the girl had been adept at bushwalkingand was a good swimmer.
Police are awaiting the results of post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death,but there's no sign of trauma to the body.
