WA: Uni protesters greet Howard =2

One of the student protesters later put their concerns to Mr Howard during a talkback
session on Perth radio 6PR.

The protester quizzed the prime minister on why the growth in university places failed
to meet the growth in the number of young people in WA, asking if the government was trying
to force students to take up full-fee paying places.

Mr Howard said the government was not forcing students to take full-fee paying places.

"There is going to be a greater likelihood of a contribution by some students from
their own resources …
